Quota Details
Image Quota
- Approximately 20 image verification checks per day
- Each upload and verification counts as one check
- Re-uploading the same image counts against the quota
Video Quota
- 10 video checks per day
- Combined total of 5 minutes of video time
- Both the check count AND total duration are tracked
- Whichever limit is reached first applies
Audio Quota
- 3 hours of cumulative audio verification per day
- Each file's full duration counts against this limit
- Example: Six 30-minute audio files would reach the daily limit
What Happens When You Hit a Limit
When you exceed a daily quota:
- The Gemini App will inform you that the daily limit has been reached
- You will need to wait until the next day for the quota to reset
- Other Gemini features remain unaffected
- You can still use alternative detection methods (visual inspection, reverse search, metadata analysis)
File Preparation Tips
If Your File Is Too Large (over 100 MB)
Images:
- Reduce resolution or dimensions
- Increase compression (lower JPEG quality)
- Convert PNG to JPEG for smaller file size
Videos:
- Trim to only the relevant section
- Reduce resolution (1080p instead of 4K)
- Use a video compressor (HandBrake is free and effective)
Audio:
- Trim to the relevant section
- Reduce bitrate (128 kbps vs 320 kbps)
- Convert to MP3 if currently in a lossless format
If Your Video Is Too Long (over 90 seconds)
- Identify the specific section you want to verify
- Trim using a video editor (built-in editors on most devices work)
- If the entire video needs checking, verify key segments separately (counts as separate checks)
If Your Audio Is Too Long (over 1 hour)
- Split into segments under 1 hour each
- Prioritize sections most likely to be AI-generated
- Each segment counts against the daily 3-hour quota
